What does it cost to have you create a custom design for me?

Text-only designs are always FREE, with unlimited revisions.

Graphic designs are FREE if you use graphics from our clipart website with minimal modification. Minimal modification may include things like color changes to a graphic, eliminating part of a graphic or simple combining of two graphics.

This website offers an incredible selection but you still may not find exactly what you're looking for. If that's the case, let Bullseye Buttons design something for you. The design fee is $50.00 and is due upfront but does not commit you to placing a button order.

If you use one of the pre-designed buttons from our Gallery and have us simply swap out the graphic or change the text, there is no design fee.

Also, if you want to order round pinback buttons in a pre-set quantity of 100, 200 or 300 buttons, go to our Quick-Order page where you can place an order that includes basic design help and free shipping!

Basic design help means assistance with button layout using text and/or a photo or clipart, working with you to achieve a result you like. It does not include custom vector design or logo creation. Please contact us for a quote for vector design.

What if I don't like what you design for my $50.00?

The design price includes three revisions which is usually enough to achieve a pleasing and satisfactory result. Further revisions are $10.00 each. However, if you request that we recreate a graphic design that is something completely different from the original design we created for you, a second $50.00 fee will apply.

For instance, the first graphic you request us to design has to do with a raging bull, but you re-think your marketing and decide to go with a bullseye target instead. That would be a complete departure from the original design of the raging bull.

I've already created my own artwork. How do I get it to you?

Email it to us at artwork@bullseyebuttons.com. If time is not an issue, you can also send your art by regular mail on CD, DVD, flash or jump-drive. We can work with .ai, .eps, .pdf, .png, .psd, .tif and high-res .jpg in PC format.

Please be sure your file is CMYK (as opposed to RGB) and at least 300 dpi for the size buttons you are ordering.

Outline all fonts (or include them in your upload) and preserve layers. If you need help converting or saving a file, give us a call.

(back to Design FAQ)

I have a picture I need you to scan. Do you charge for that?

If we scan your photo the cost is $5.00 per scan. We'll return the photo with your order.

(back to Design FAQ)

Can you do PMS (Pantone Matching System) colors?

No, we do 4-color process (digital CMYK) printing and are not a Pantone-certified printer. Some Pantone colors are not reproducible in CMYK. If you can mail us an actual printed piece with the color you need, we may be able to come close. In this case, we suggest you obtain a hard-copy sample from us before giving final approval for production. Please be aware that slight color variations may occur on larger runs and is not considered a returnable defect.

(back to Design FAQ)

An old picture I want to use has scratches and water spots on it. Can you re-touch it before you scan it?

We can do photo re-touching, even if you don't want a button made from it! Depending on the severity of the photo's damage, the cost will be $5.00- $25.00 maximum. However, if we feel we cannot adequately restore the photo, you will not be charged.

(back to Design FAQ)

Where can I see a comparison of the different sizes?

Go here to download a .pdf of actual button sizes we offer. You'll need Adobe Reader to view it. You can download that here. Please don't use this as a template as there are no guidelines on it and it's not the correct dpi.

(back to Design FAQ)

Can I get a template to help me lay out my button, including artwork area and bleed?

Sure! Grab our button template for all the shapes and sizes so you have exact dimensions with which to work. Put our template on a separate layer and then turn off the layer before saving your file. If you still have questions, just give us a call toll free and we'll be glad to help.

(back to Design FAQ)

I have a cool picture of a copyrighted piece of art. Can you make buttons from that?

No. Any copyrighted artwork, unless you personally own the copyright, cannot be made into a saleable item by Bullseye Buttons. Bullseye will not knowingly accept any copyrighted, trademarked or service marked items for production. If you're not sure if something is copyrighted, we strongly suggest you don't use it.

Ordering FAQ b

I want 100 buttons total but want two different designs. In other words, I need 50 of one design and 50 of the other design. How does that work?

I only need 8 buttons. Can I order that few?

Can I see an actual sample of my button before you run my order?

Can you send me some free samples before I order?

If I order 100 pieces of a design, can some be pinbacks, some magnets and some keychains?

When ordering buttons through your shopping cart, why doesn't it tell me how fast I'll get them? I don't want to pay for Next Day Air if I'm not going to get them the next day.

(back to top of FAQ page)

I want 100 buttons total but want two different designs. In other words, I need 50 of one design and 50 of the other design. How does that work?

Pricing is based on one design per quantity. In this example, your order would be considered two 50-piece orders. Your pricing would be based on the 50-piece rate for each order. You may find it easier to place your order by phone than through our shopping cart if you have many designs in your order.

(back to Ordering FAQ)

I only need 8 buttons. Can I order that few?

You may order just one if that's all you need because Bullseye has no minimums!

(back to Ordering FAQ)

Can I see an actual sample of my button before you run my order?

Digital proofs via email are free. If you'd like an actual sample of your artwork and have adequate time, we'll provide the sample for free but USPS Priority shipping is $5.15. Or we'll ship it free using first-class mail but it will take longer to reach you and there is no package tracking. If you need the sample overnighted, please provide a Fed Ex or UPS account number.

If you decide to place an order based on that sample and the order totals at least $50.00 (not including shipping), we'll credit the $5.15 shipping fee for the sample.

(back to Ordering FAQ)

Can you send me some free samples before I order?

Bullseye Buttons offers nine shapes/sizes and five different product lines. We'd like to help you choose the best one(s) for your endeavor and the more we know about your project, the better we can help!

We're happy to provide a sample pack of up to 3 different items but you must call us toll free to request them. After talking with you briefly, we should be able to send you the appropriately-sized or shaped items that can help you decide whether or not to move forward on your project.

(back to Ordering FAQ)

If I order 100 pieces of a design, can some be pinbacks, some magnets and some keychains?

You may mix and match any combination of items with the same design but your cost will be based on the quantity of each item ordered. The items must also all be the same size to take advantage of this pricing.

Using 100 pieces of a 1.75" button as an example, if 50 are pinbacks, 25 are magnets and 25 are keychains, your cost for the 50 pinbacks will be based on the pricing chart for 50 of that item, the price for the 25 magnets will be based on the pricing chart for that item, and so forth.

(back to Ordering FAQ)

When ordering buttons through your shopping cart, why doesn't it tell me how fast I'll get them? I don't want to pay for Next Day Air if I'm not going to get them the next day.

How fast you receive your buttons depends not only on the shipping option you choose, but also where your order fits into our production schedule. That's why we don't post delivery times in our cart.

If your order is time-critical enough that you are choosing an expedited shipping method (such as Next Day or 2nd Day Air), please give us a call toll free first to make sure we can produce your buttons in enough time to make the extra shipping worthwhile.

Also, many customers who have called first found we were able to save them money on shipping because our schedule allowed us to fit their order in between others. Why pay higher shipping if you don't have to?

Shipping FAQ c

How much is shipping?

Whom do you use for shipping?

Do you ship internationally?

Why does the box my buttons came in look used?

(back to top of FAQ page)

How much is shipping?

It depends on several factors: weight of the product being shipped and its destination, the carrier used and the type of delivery requested. A variety of shipping options are available for online purchases, including UPS Ground, 2nd Day and Next Day and USPS Priority mail.

PLEASE NOTE:  USPS Flat Rate, which is sometimes less expensive than shipping by weight, and first-class mail (such as a jetpack with one or two items) are available for phone-in orders only.

(back to Shipping FAQ)

Whom do you use for shipping?

We typically use UPS and the USPS. UPS provides excellent tracking information and is our preferred carrier for larger shipments. If you have an account with FedEx or other carrier and provide us with your shipper number, we're happy to use that carrier.

USPS 2-3 Day Priority mail through the U.S. Postal Service, or Flat Rate (available for phone-in orders only), is great for lower quantity orders and sometimes less than UPS. They offer tracking capability but not to the extent that UPS does, and their delivery dates are an estimate, not a guarantee.

(back to Shipping FAQ)

Do you ship internationally?

At this time, we ship to the United States and its U.S. territories only.

(back to Shipping FAQ)

Why does the box my buttons came in look used?

You may occasionally receive a box that is being re-used. We do this to try do our part to conserve resources. Of course, we won't reuse a box that's been compromised because we want your products to arrive in perfect condition.

As part of our green initiative, we shred newspaper and other scrap paper for packaging insulation, re-use structurally acceptable boxes from our vendors, and we also recycle the toner cartridges used to print your button graphics. Some of our vendor-supplied button components are manufactured from recycled materials and all our non-reusable cardboard is recycled.

When do I pay for my order? Can I get an invoice before paying?

Phone Orders:  an invoice can be emailed or faxed to you prior to you making payment, if you request it, and we can process your credit card information over the phone through our secure server. You'll also automatically receive a copy of your invoice by email and we always include one with your shipment.

(back to Payment FAQ)

General FAQ g

I live in Florida and there's sales tax on my invoice plus another tax. What's the other tax for?

I think my organization is tax-exempt. What do I need to show you as proof?

Can I re-sell the products I buy from Bullseye Buttons?

Do I get credit for referring people to Bullseye Buttons?

What is an acetate button?

What kind of experience does Bullseye Buttons have?

(back to top of FAQ page)

I live in Florida and there's sales tax on my invoice plus another tax. What's the other tax for?

The state of Florida requires us to collect a discretionary sales surtax, or county tax, from some Florida counties, in addition to the 6% sales tax. Bullseye Buttons is required to then pay that tax to the Florida Department of Revenue.

Please remember, if you are a Florida re-seller and selling our products in the state of Florida, we are required to collect sales tax on your purchase unless you provide us with your current re-sale certificate (DR-13A).

(back to General FAQ)

I think my organization is tax-exempt. What do I need to show you as proof?

No problem! Your organization should have been given a Consumer's Certificate of Exemption, Form DR-14 in Florida. Payment must be made only by the entity on the certificate. Personal payments made to Bullseye that will be repaid by the entity named on the certificate cannot be accepted for tax-exempt purchases.

Because we cannot assume your tax exemption status based on the organization you represent, just fax or email us a copy of your sales tax exemption certificate.

(back to General FAQ)

Can I re-sell the products I buy from Bullseye Buttons?

Absolutely! Many people use buttons in fund-raising, as raffle tokens, band promotion and other money-making endeavors. Set your own price and then go for it!

PLEASE NOTE:  If you are a Florida resident and re-selling our buttons in the state of Florida, please remember to provide us with your current re-sale certificate (DR-13A) to avoid having to pay sales tax when you purchase the buttons from us.

(back to General FAQ)

Do I get credit for referring people to Bullseye Buttons?

Yes! When you refer someone to us who purchases a minimum button order of $20.00 (not including shipping), after their order settles you'll receive a coupon code for 20% off your next order.

Coupons are valid for 90 days from issue date for product purchase only and may not be combined with sale items, transferred or exchanged for cash. Customer is responsible for sales tax where applicable. There is no limit to the number of referrals you can earn but you may redeem only one coupon per order.

(back to General FAQ)

What is an acetate button?

An acetate button is printed on transparency film instead of our bright white paper. Anywhere there is no black or color toner on the design, the silver of the button front shines through, giving the buttons a classy, eye-popping look. It also makes the colors on the button look metallic. The acetate finish is slightly matte, as opposed to the high gloss look of our paper buttons covered with mylar.

A solid black graphic or bold text are examples of designs that work very well with an acetate finish, though we've also found that even smaller text is highly visible. Check out our home page for photos of some color acetate buttons that look great!

Helpful Hint:  If you're creating your own artwork you can experiment by replacing any white in your design with a very light gray and use the satin filter in Photoshop to give you a basic idea of what it will look like.

(back to General FAQ)
